  PATIENT EDUCATION

An important part of any treatment or prevention program is patient education. Here are some articles to help improve your daily function.

Why Your Child Might Need a Physiotherpist

Physiotherapy encompasses much more than just doing exercises after a surgery. Children can often benefit from the specific training physiotherapists have in movement dysfunction, spatial coordination and neurological disorders.

Whether your child suffers from a motor delay, sprained ankle or torticollis, a physiotherapist may be able to help.

Understanding Thoracic Disc Herniations

Thoracic disc herniations have historically been underdiagnosed as spine disorders. MRIs are now showing they exist in as much as 15% of the population.

Learn How to Choose the Right Backpack

Backpacks are returning as functional fashion in a big way.

  HEALTHY HABITS

A healthy habit is any activity or behaviour that can benefit your physical, mental, or emotional well-being. At first, small changes might not seem that effective.  But when you put together dozens of tiny habits you can create a framework for a healthy life.

Eating Healthier

Brighten up your next steak meal by adding a colorful, tangy tomato salad on top. These little grape tomatoes are packed with cancer-crushing lycopene and come in all colors of the rainbow. They’re sure to give your sliced meat a beautiful, and balanced finish after it comes off the grill!

Incorporate Balance Exercises Into Your Routine

Balance on one leg for 10 seconds at a time, then switch to the other leg. Incorporate a balance exercise into your daily routine, such as while brushing your teeth or standing in a line. It’s a part of neuromotor training, which helps you improve your balance, agility and mobility — all things you need in everyday movement and in other forms of exercise.

  INSPIRATION & MOTIVATION

Tradition certainly has its place in success. But don’t let the fear of breaking tradition keep you from giving innovation a try. If your gut tells you to try something differently, go for it! You’ll never know if you don’t try.

Who knows, you might even start a trend.
