  PATIENT EDUCATION

An important part of any treatment or prevention program is patient education. Here are some articles to help improve your daily function.

Exercise is Medicine

Have you ever heard the phrase “exercise is the best medicine?” Regular exercise helps people remain limber, boosts physical health, enhances mental performance and resilience, and improves longevity. It also reduces the risk of certain age-related issues.

When you are not able to access a fitness center, it’s great to know that you can still exercise as much as you wish at home.

Walking

Whenever you can. To go to the corner store or to get some fresh air during an afternoon break or for an after-dinner stroll through the neighbourhood. Walk. And how many steps should we be taking? Sedentary is less than 5,000 steps per day. Low active is 5,000 to 7,499 steps per day. Somewhat active is 7,500 to 9,999 steps per day. Active is more than 10,000 steps per day. It might seem like a lot, but every step you take counts, and gets you closer to your goal. Think of it as a game and have fun!
