Manual Therapy

Orthopaedic manual therapies are manual techniques utilized by a physiotherapist.  They can be described as graded manipulative techniques applied to joint and soft tissue structures, (ie., muscle, ligament, tendon, fascia and nerve).

Manual therapy can:

  1. Improve the healing environment
  2. Increase joint range of motion
  3. Decrease pain
  4. Improve soft tissue elasticity
  5. Reduce scar tissue formation

Manual therapies can be used in both acute and chronic conditions.
